The charger has to convert Alternating Current (AC) from your wall socket into the Direct Current (DC) so that electronic components can function.

If you don’t have plans on buying a new one, then check the adapter if it’s still producing the voltage it should – not too high, not too low. To do that, you will need a voltmeter. If you don’t have one, then I guess the last option is to buy a new charger instead.
